Typhoon staff member, Izy, is raising money for Target Ovarian Cancer.
Please read below Izy’s story:
This challenge is in memory of Mel Robinson.
On 3rd July I’ll be swimming 4km in Llyn Mwyngil in Snowdonia. I’m taking on this swim because personally and professionally I’ve seen how devastating a diagnosis of ovarian cancer can be for women and their families.
Target Ovarian Cancer contribute to research into ovarian cancer and raise awareness of the symptoms to try to increase early diagnosis while providing support to the families affected.
This distance in open water is a long way out of my comfort zone! Your support and donations mean a lot to me and can help make a difference to every woman affected with ovarian cancer.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
UPDATE:
(From Izy’s Just Giving page)
Thank you for all your donations! The swim was on Sunday, it was a bit chilly at times and the wind was against me for the second km of each lap but it was great fun. I had a great support team from my family and boyfriend before and during, and a big roast dinner afterwards. More importantly, we’ve raised over £1000 including gift aid which is really exciting, and will help support those affected by ovarian cancer. (The page is still open at the moment for any last minute donations.) I really appreciate all your support – thank you!
