The WHO confirms swimming is Covid-safe

The World Health Organisation (WHO) have released a statement via social media confirming that swimming pools are safe environments when combined with the social distancing measures such as the ones Typhoon has in place.
Typhoon feels its time to #OpenOurPools, especially as being fit and healthy is a major factor in reducing the risk of covid-19.
Sport is essential to many children and adults, both for physical and mental well-being.
Learning to swim specifically, also helps to prevent drowning: which is the 3rd largest cause of accidental death.
There are numerous other benefits unique to swimming: it’s non-impact, used extensively in rehabilitation, studies have shown asthma can improve due to the air moisture and the increased lung capacity that swimmers build, it teaches self-discipline, improves coordination and proprioception, builds muscle, provides cardiovascular endurance…and so much more!
It’s no wonder swimming is regarded as the #1 sport and a “perfect workout” by Harvard Health! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️
